Tragedy struck the New York Jets on opening the opening day match. On the opening drive and just a few plays in, they carted Aaron Rodgers off the field. The injury will see the beloved QB miss the entire season, but will there be financial consequences? We’re not talking about his contract with the Jets. Days before his bow at the MetLife Stadium, A-Rod inked a deal with a familiar name. It was a name he had been associated with during his time in Wisconsin, but a move to the Big Apple saw the deal evolve. Does the Achilles injury cast a shadow on that?

Aaron Rodgers sealed the deal with his favorite shoe brand

Quarterback Aaron Rodgers is making his debut this season with the New York Jets. Unfortunately, on Monday night’s game against the Buffalo Bills, he had to be transported off the field due to a left Achilles injury during only his fourth play. “He’s out for the year. He needs surgery.” head coach Robert Saleh informed.

Saleh and the team got confirmation through an MRI that his left Achilles tendon was completely torn. The coach did not elaborate on the schedule and recovery process of the 39-year-old player.

Just a few days before this misfortune, the NFL star signed a multimillion-dollar deal with his favorite dress shoe brand. He has been an investor in the brand Amberjack since 2021, and recently he just announced his new $210M gigantic endorsement with them. “As I get older, I want to be a part of brands that have a similar focus on doing good in the world,” Rodgers said. “There are a lot of buzzwords around consumer products right now and scores around good environmental practices. We’re seeing a lot of greenwashing for products that maybe aren’t as good for the environment as they claim to be“.

The fate of Rodgers’ deal in light of his season-ending injury remains uncertain. There has been no official statement from either party clarifying the situation.

Will his season-killer injury affect the deal?

As the Jets Super Bowl hopes have potentially gone up in smoke, it is wondered if Rodgers’ deal will also face trouble. Rodgers’ connection to the brand goes beyond just investment–he shares a genuine admiration for its commitment to sustainability and environmental consciousness. In 2020, businessman John Peters established Amberjack, a company dedicated to creating the ultimate dress shoe.

The future of the deal will likely depend on Rodgers’ recovery and the ongoing dynamics between all involved parties. For now, it remains an intriguing question mark in the world of sports and business.
