Everyone knows that Rodgers’ days in the franchise are about to end soon. His services for the past 17 seasons had been phenomenal, and the bonds he had created in the meantime happened to be the backbone of the team.
However this offseason, per reports, Rodgers confessed to his long-time buddy Davante Adams that he won’t stay with the team longer. Even though he signed a massive contract extension for three years, the 38-year-old might be planning to retire ahead of the schedule.
“The Packers quarterback, who had signed a new three-year contract, suggested his time in Green Bay was nearing an end and that Adams should make the decision that we best for him and his family,” the comment reads.
As a result, the five-time Pro-Bowler decided to seek a trade and asked the Packers to add him to the trading list. Despite the franchise offering him a much bigger contract, compared to his five-year $141.25 million with the Raiders, Adams decided to have a fresh start in his career.

He could have stayed with the Packers until Rodgers retires once in for all or build a strong foundation by trading himself ahead of the 2022 season. He chose the latter one, and that had surprised his long-time passer. “I felt like he was going to be back. Didn’t obviously turn out that way, but I have so much love for ‘Tae and appreciate the time we spent together and definitely wish him the best in Derek [Carr] in Vegas. But that’s a big hole to fill, for sure.” Rodgers said while speaking to Pat McAfee on his popular show.
