Daniel Snyder’s Deflategate Take Resurfaces After Refusing to Get Interviewed Amidst Investigation

The NFL has been riddled with controversies that have absolutely nothing to do with the sport. With a league that is driven by profit, there have been dire accusations against owners partaking in illegal activities for the sake of gain. The possibility of NFL owners acting out of their greed isn’t totally unbelievable as the amounts of money they handle are massive. However, this time, the allegations against Daniel Snyder are of another level altogether. The allegations against the Washington Commanders owner, Daniel Snyder aren’t about just something as trivial as money. They’re about basic human decency.

He has been under investigation by the league for more than just one shameful allegation. However, he recently made a decision that shook the NFL world. Furthermore, one of his older takes came to light that highlighted the cruel irony of his refusal.

The irony behind the past statements of Daniel Snyder

As of now, Snyder is being investigated for his financial wrongdoings as well as allegations of sexual misconduct. However, Snyder himself has refused to take part in any investigations that might try to uncover the truth. He has refused to be interviewed by Mary Jo White as she is conducting the investigation into the Commanders.

Interestingly, when the incident Deflategate had taken place, the NFL had stated very sternly that teams must cooperate when an investigation takes place. Even though the amount of cooperation that takes place is based on the discretion of the organization, the league itself is liable to pose sanctions if a team doesn’t comply.

Furthermore, this was something all NFL owners had agreed to when Brady and the Patriots were under investigation for Deflategate. However, in the case of Snyder, the NFL hasn’t yet said anything about sanctions on him or the Commanders.

Furthermore, fans took to Twitter to comment on the supposed double standards the NFL is seemingly propagating while being involved in the Snyder allegations.

Finally, fans criticized Goodwell for his behavior with the owners.

Fans were not very impressed with the way the league is being lax with Snyder’s investigation. Ironically, the allegations against the Patriots and Brady were even more prolonged and seriously taken as compared to the severe allegations against Snyder.

As the league hasn’t taken any actions against Snyder yet, he might be able to escape these allegations without so much as even an investigation. It only remains to be seen if the league takes any actions to uncover the truth.
