The Philadelphia Eagles broke their 8-0 winning streak on Monday after a 32-21 loss to the Washington Commanders this week. Well, this was not the only setback. In fact, they lost a long-time TE Dallas Goedert, incurring a shoulder injury. Now he is placed on injured reserve along with defensive tackle Marlon Tuipulotu.

The decision came on Wednesday after a thorough examination, and this move will lead Goedert to miss at least four games in the upcoming weeks. However, he can return in Week 15 against the Chicago Bears.
This shall prove to be a big blow for the Eagles’ formidable offense. Goedert has contributed to 43 receptions for 544 yards and registered three touchdowns this season. “That stinks for us as a team, stinks for Dallas,” head coach Nick Sirianni said Wednesday.
“So how do we replace him? You can’t, right, you have to do it by committee. You have tight ends that are there that we have a lot of faith in this building; it’ll start with them.” he added. This undefeated streak of perfect eight games happened for the first time in franchise history. And Goedert played a pivotal broke to make this happen.
Well, his absence would pave the way for other prospects to come forward, especially the second-year TE Jack Stoll and rookie Grant Calcaterra. Stoll would be the favorite to replace Goedert because his previous seasons’ records have been impressive to an extent that he can minimize the losses.
Apart from Goedert, the Eagles also placed defensive tackle Marlon Tuipulotu on injured reserve. He was supposed to cover for Jordan Davis, who incurred an ankle injury. But this move made the depth chart look more fragile.
What are the new additions made by Philadelphia Eagles?
It seems the Eagles have no intentions to lower their guards, especially when the season has entered its final phase. To fill the void for Marlon Tuipulotu, the Eagles signed veteran defensive tackle Linval Joseph. The former second-round pick of the New York Giants has recorded 25 career sacks and made two Pro Bowl selections.

“There have been a lot of guys who have had experience with him, and we think he’s the right type of guy for the locker room,” Sirianni said. “We think, he’s still a heck of a football player, and he’s going to be able to help us,” he added.

Similarly, TE Tyree Jackson had been activated from the PUP list, and safety Marquise Blair got included in the practice squad. With these new additions, it will be interesting to see how they perform against the Colts’ next game.
