The Dallas Cowboys will probably see a whole host of changes to their roster in the offseason, but something that’s for certain is that there will be no change at the helm of the ship.

Cowboys Executive Vice President Stephen Jones cleared the air about some rumors regarding Head Coach Mike McCarthy’s future with America’s Team.

McCarthy stays! (at least for now)

Jones, during a segment of 105.3 The Fan [KRLD-FM], confirmed that the Cowboys would not be parting ways with the former Green Bay Packers Head Coach.

“There will be absolutely no change with coach Mike McCarthy… I am surprised that someone would question Mike, this unprecedented situation that everybody’s been in.

“And on top of that, no one’s making excuses, but we have had some real challenges in the injury category,” said the Cowboys Executive Vice President.

“If you look at his track record and pedigree, he’s consistently won year in and year out and we have the utmost confidence that this ship is going to be righted quickly. And Mike’s going to be the leader of this group and he’s certainly a great head coach.

“I think we’re going to see that going forward, that he’s a great head coach in this league. He’s accomplished a lot and he’s going to accomplish a lot more before it’s all said and done,” added Jones.

Following their win against the Cincinnati Bengals, the Cowboys can still mathematically make it to the Playoffs, but the probability of that happening is lesser than that of Patrick Mahomes throwing 4 interceptions in a game.

The Cowboys have been ravaged by injuries this season with the most high-profile one being to franchise tag QB Dak Prescott. Dak’s future, too, is up in the air as the teams are yet to agree to anything verbally.

Others on the Cowboys Injured Reserve list include the likes of Maurice Canady, La’el Collins, Stephen Guidry, Mitch Hyatt, Azur Kamara, and Tyron Smith all out with long-term recovery periods.

With this season being one to forget for the Cowboys, do you think the franchise can bounce back next season? And if so, will Prescott be there, or will ‘America’s Team’ have a new face in the pocket?
