When Jerry Jones bought the Dallas Cowboys, he faced many criticisms. Everyone thought Jones was making a mistake by spending a vast amount of money to buy a sports franchise. However, that gamble paid off. The Dallas Cowboys are the most valuable sports franchise in the world. Today, Jerry Jones is a billionaire.

His investment in the Cowboys made him more successful than he would have been without them. Jerry Jones’ risked the future of his family when he decided to buy the Dallas Cowboys.
His wife, Eugenia Jones, had earlier opened up about the struggles that they had to face when they bought the Cowboys. She said, “It was, in the beginning, it was a great sacrifice, and Jerry knew it was going to be and he knew the numbers really were not working out.”
Eugenia added, “Not really what you would expect to do with your future when you were at that stage in your life it’s kind of like like when it’s like winning the teddy bear he wants something and he really he just doesn’t take no for an answer…“

Jerry Jones’ gamble with the Dallas Cowboys turned out great for him
Jerry Jones bought the Dallas Cowboys in 1989 for an estimated $140 million. Currently, the team value stands at $6.5 billion. During his early years of ownership of the Cowboys, the team achieved tremendous success. The team from Dallas won three Super Bowls in the 1990s. However, since 1996, one can see a decline in its winning streak.

They haven’t won a single Super Bowl since then. It is one of the major concerns for the franchise, but it doesn’t stop their economic growth. Due to Jones’ popularity and the brand name of the Cowboys, the franchise is ever-evolving.
