As per Sportico, GameSquare will pay $26.7 million in an all-stock purchase. The Complexity stockholders will get $83.3 million common shares in GameSquare. Moreover, following the deal, GameSquare will be owned primarily by Jones, founder Jason Lake, and real estate developer John Goff.

The company will also welcome Travis Goff, head of Goff Capital, and Tom Walker, CFO of the Dallas Cowboys, to its board of directors. Complexity’s 2003 founder will continue serving as its CEO and also assume the global head of Esports for GameSquare.
The Dallas Cowboys-Complexity Gaming collaboration
Jerry Jones and real estate mogul, John Goff, took over the gaming team in 2017. The team underwent a rebranding, and now has a logo that is like the Cowboys’ lone star symbol. It also includes new battle suits, a revamped website, and new merchandise. Complexity grossed around $3.3 million in 2019 and $3.4 million in 2020 after the acquisition.

Jason Lake, the franchise’s initial founder, explains the bottom line in both traditional and online games via WFAA. “I always saw [Esports] as the perfect convergence of a sporting competition and the gaming, nerd culture that I was very passionate about… I was always adamant this was the next global sport,” He mentions.
