Jerry Jones and Donald Trump have been a part of the most popular businessmen in the United States of America. Both of them are billionaires but have gone in different directions as they grew old. Jones bought the Cowboys in 1989, and his focus is on them. On the other hand, Trump became the President of the USA.

Both Jones and Trump haven’t been on the same side quite often. However, in 2018, that wasn’t the case. Donald Trump publicly agreed to one of the decisions taken by the Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. The billionaire owner of the Cowboys had made it clear to his players that all of them will stand when the national anthem is being played.

Trump, via his Twitter account, said, “Way to go Jerry. This is what the league should do!” It was during the time when player protests in the league were quite high. Trump’s support for Jerry Jones was very surprising. Earlier, the Dallas Cowboys owner claimed that he didn’t like the involvement of Donald Trump with the things that were happening in the NFL.

Talking about Trump, Jones had said, “His interest in what we’re doing is problematic, from my chair, and I would say in general the owners’ chair. It’s unprecedented if you really think about it. But like the very game itself, that’s the way it is and we’ll deal with it.”

Jerry Jones’ stance has always been pretty clear on the national anthem

Jerry Jones is the owner of the most valuable sports franchise in the world. With fame comes greater responsibility. He has always been clear about his stance on his players during the national anthem.

Jones wants all the players on his team to always stand and respect the national anthem. After the protests that went on in the NFL, which were inspired by Colin Kaepernick taking the knee, Jones’ decision became more vital. He doesn’t want the name of his franchise to be involved in any issue.
