The Dallas Cowboys are not having a good season by any stretch of the imagination. One of the most historic franchises in the history of the NFL, the Cowboys, are only 3-9 this season.
It has been a fall from grace for ‘America’s Team’. And now, they’ve made more history, not the way they would have envisioned at the start of the season.
The Dallas Cowboys were a staple of Sunday Night Football. But this weekend, the Cowboys’ game against the Bengals, which was set for Sunday Night Football, was passed over for the New York Giants-Cleveland Browns game.

Cowboys’ owner and General Manager Jerry Jones addressed the snub, and suffice to say, he wasn’t surprised. But he added that the Cowboys will get back to the prime-time slot and was okay with the snub. “I love the matchup between those two teams, but it certainly was not unexpected.
“We just have the ability to put excellent games into prime time or add to [a] slot that we might want to juice up a little bit. All of that is the future of managing our programming in the NFL. I like all of this.”
This was because the Cowboys and Bengals are both out of playoff contention, unlike the Giants and Browns. Therefore, the NFL chose to place their game in the prime-time slot.
The Dallas Cowboys have never been knocked off from the Sunday night football slot in the past. But now, this instance is a testament to the poor brand of football that the Cowboys have been offering the fans.

The Cowboys’ poor form this season has been attributed, by many, to the loss of Dak Prescott. Prescott, their star quarterback, suffered an injury earlier in the season that ruled him out.
Since then, the Cowboys have been on a poor run of form, losing most of their games with poor performances on both the offensive and defensive ends of the court.
As far as the Big D are concerned, they have no chance of making the Playoffs this season. However, they must continue to play to their best.

Not just for pride, but to convince Prescott, who is a free agent next summer, that the team can challenge for a Super Bowl spot next season. It will be interesting to see if the Cowboys can convince Prescott to re-sign in free agency.
