The 2020 NFL season must seem like a roller-coaster to Mike McCarthy and the Dallas Cowboys. The Texas-based organization were one of the favourites to make the playoffs before the season began in September. But multiple injury struggles and defensive frailties have hampered their progress over the last four months.
But they’ve improved in recent weeks, at least from a defensive point-of-view. A major reason behind that is the resurgence of 28-year old defensive end, Randy Gregory. The Florida-born athlete has been with the Cowboys since 2015. He’s been through some ups and downs over the last 5 years but looks to finally have found some consistency in his game.
He was a standout performer in last week’s win over the Philadelphia Eagles finishing with 6 tackles, 1.5 sacks. Since returning to the team in Week 7, Gregory has 3.5 total sacks on the season.

Randy Gregory part of Dallas Cowboys future, says Jerry Jones
As per reports from The Athletic, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones remains a fan of in-form defensive, Randy Gregory. The 78-year old American businessman heaped praise on the youngster on the back of some dominant displays.
He said, “We need to have him in there every time that we get a chance. I thought when we drafted him he was the best pass rusher in the draft. I thought he was, and that’s why I took the risk on him that I took. But it was a risk at the time.”

“We paid for that risk. Randy will be the first to tell you, and it’s paying off for us. I’m just excited. I have visions of a future for Randy here with the Cowboys that can meet the promise we really were looking at when we drafted him in the second round,” Jones said on The Fan, a radio talk show.
