The NFL reportedly suspended Dallas Cowboys’ defensive tackle for allegedly punching Las Vegas Raiders offensive guard John Simpson during the Thanksgiving Day matchup. On Monday, NFL vice president of football operations Jon Runyan announced the suspension for violations of unnecessary roughness and unsportsmanlike conduct rules.
The Cowboys have already lost some coaches and a player to COVID-19 ahead of the Thursday matchup against the New Orleans Saints. The adversity hits big when the NFL announced the suspension of the defensive tackle as well, who will sit out at least two games without pay.

Tristen Hill gets suspended for punching Raiders OG
“After the Las Vegas Raiders-Dallas Cowboys game on November 25,” Runyan wrote in the letter to Hill. “You engaged in conduct that this office considers unnecessary roughness and displays a lack of sportsmanship. Specifically, as both teams were shaking hands, you waited more than 50 seconds for your opponent at the 50-yard line.”
“When you located him, you then walked toward him in the opposite direction of your locker room. You both engaged in a verbal chest-to-chest confrontation which you escalated by throwing an open hand punch to his facemask, forcible enough to cause your opponent’s helmet to come off,” Runyan added.

Although according to ESPN’s Todd Archer, Hill is appealing the suspension. Derrick Brooks or James will issue the ruling on the appeal of Thrash; jointly appointed and paid by the NFL and the NFLPA. If the suspension stands, the Cowboys can only activate Hill on Monday, Dec. 13, missing two crucial games against the New Orleans Saints and the Washington Football Team.

The 7-4 Dallas Cowboys seem to be in a desperate situation right now. Despite their leading status in the NFC East, they can easily be challenged and get tossed Washington, who currently sits on the second spot with a three-game winning streak while the Cowboys are running on a two-game losing streak.
