Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott endured a tough day at the office tonight. The fifth-year quarterback was involved in a nasty incident with New York Giants defensive end, Logan Ryan.

After a strong performance in the game, Prescott was at the receiving end of a tough tackle from Ryan in the third quarter. Prescott landed awkwardly on his right ankle which appeared to dislocate when he hit the ground.

The damage was instantly visible to the players on the field and the spectators at home as well. Prescott appeared to be writhing in pain but still tried to push his ankle back in the socket. After failing to do so, Dak was carted off the field in tears in what is now turning out to be an emotional end to his 2020 NFL campaign.

Here’s what Cowboys teammate and Prescott’s close friend, Ezekiel Elliott, said on the issue.

“It sucks. Yeah, it sucks. I know we won; it just sucks to lose Dak, our leader. And I was talking to the guys and it’s going to take all of us. It’s going to take all of us to fill that void that we’re going to be missing from 4. Just gotta go out there and play for him,” Zeke said at the post-game press meet.

Even Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy chimed in with a message for his star quarterback.

“There was a flood of emotion, even from their bench. Obviously there’s relationships on their sideline that Dak has, and the respect everybody has for Dak. And that was clearly evident during those moments,” McCarthy added.

For the time being, former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton will most likely start the next game for the Cowboys. Here’s what the seasoned NFL quarterback said in light of Prescott’s recent setback.

“You absolutely hate it for Dak. The way that he was playing this year and everything he’s put into it, I hate to see that for him. So it’s emotional. You hate that injuries happen in this game, unfortunately they’re part of it and I’m definitely praying for him. It’s been a lot of fun to be around him ever since I got here just to see how he works, see how he prepares and you can see with just the way that he’s been playing this year,” Dalton said after the game.
