Probable Venues to host the NFL Combine
The city of Indianapolis has held the NFL Scouting Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium since 1987. Even though Indy has also kept a bid to keep hosting the event, the NFL is yet to decide whether or not to relocate it. The NFL Scouting Combine has agreed to a five-year contract to stay in Indianapolis until at least 2020; marking the first time it has not operated on a year-to-year basis.
The contract for the combine to be held in Indianapolis will expire after the 2022 event, according to Adam Schefter. Los Angeles, Dallas, and Indianapolis have all submitted bids to host the 2023 event.

The NFL chooses Indianapolis to host the event because of the city’s geographic location. The event also gains a revenue of $6.5 Million from attendants, as per Indy Star. Now that Dallas has the multi-million AT&T Stadium in Texas and the SoFi Stadium in California, the committee is yet to decide.

To avoid any covid-19 related issues, the N.I.C. issued a memo that they will host the event in a ‘bubble,’ which stated players would only have one medical support person to assist them, expelling the violators.
As per Ian Rapoport, the memo did not receive positive reactions, with over 150 players’ agents threatening a boycott if the limits are not relaxed. However, the N.I.C. made changes, declaring that players could communicate with their entire support crew while advising social distancing.
The NFL Combine is an event worth monitoring. Many new prospects take to the field hoping to become the NFL’s future stars, and it also attracts new viewers. The announcement of a new location is a significant historical change; an Alternative place comes with the benefit of an advanced stadium and better location, which the NIC can surely consider.
