It’s been quite a different offseason for Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys. From the way they have handled their player contract negotiations to how they approached the 2023 Draft, it has been a different outlook altogether. They have not splashed out enormous sums of money for offseason trades. Rather, the two most notable off-season signings were CB Stephon Gilmore and WR Brandin Cooks through two very team-friendly deals. Even Pro Football Focus gave the Dallas Cowboys a B- for their offseason work.

And now, with training camp knocking on the doors of the NFL, Jones’ $8 billion empire witnesses two crucial incidents. How will this dual drama affect the Cowboys’ 2023 campaign?

Cowboys’ QB Dak Prescott did not enjoy quite a successful season in 2022. He missed multiple games due to injury. And not only this, but he also went on the become the first QB in history to miss five or more games and still lead the league in interceptions. The QB had a career-high of 15 interceptions last season. And with an interception percentage of 3.8%, it was also the highest for any starting QB. But Prescott is looking to make amends in 2023.

According to an article by Bobby Kownack for the NFL, Prescott talked about how he understands the spotlight that is on him at the moment. The QB said that he “knows” himself and made a prediction that he “won’t have 10 interceptions this year.” This is a bold statement made by the 29-year-old. It is because, over the last six seasons, he has thrown at least 10 interceptions four times. And with Brandin Cooks joining the roster, it will be interesting to see what kind of chemistry the two build on the gridiron once the season starts.

And this is not the only headline-making news from the Dallas Cowboys. Apart from this, fans could be seeing the return of their exiled RB.

Will Ezekiel Elliott come back to the Dallas Cowboys?

After a dismal performance, the team decided to let go of veteran RB Ezekiel Elliott in the offseason. And in place of Elliott, they came forward to place their faith in Tony Pollard to take the veteran’s place. Pollard broke the 1,000-yard barrier for the first time with 193 carries last season. And this led to the team being sure of letting Elliott go and franchise-tagging Pollard. But now, according to reports, Zeke could be making a comeback with the Cowboys. But this time, it might be as a backup to Pollard. Even Jerry Jones spoke about how he’s kept the door open for Ezekiel Elliott during the post-draft press conference. And Zeke has been using the offseason to continue his training regime, despite being a free agent in the market.
