The Week 4 win of the 2022 season saw a spectacular turnover of mindset inside the Cowboys locker room. Back-up QB Cooper Rush added another feather to his cap by becoming the first Dallas QB to win the first four career starts. This achievement might seem less important, but this feat was something that proved impossible for many passers in the league.

A few days ago, the Cowboys fan base was worried about losing Dak Prescott and inviting a backup to take the charge. He was not even on the 53-man roster, but the impact he created was phenomenal.

With Sunday’s 25-10 victory against the Commanders, Cooper Rush became the first Dallas quarterback to go 4-0 in his first four starts. For the last five seasons, the veteran was inside the team. And hence, he understands the chemistry of players and the atmosphere inside out.

He now joins the elite least known clubs of undrafted free agents to register this record. Kurt Warner, Kyle Allen, Dieter Brock, John Stofa, and Mike Tomczak are the others on the panel.

When everyone lost their hopes in the team, it was Jerry Jones, who had faith in his weapons. And Cooper Rush was the result of one such bold decision by the businessman. “He’s certainly playing as well as anyone could have expected,” Jones said a few days ago. “He understands this offense. He’s got the makeup of a top quarterback. We’re very fortunate.” he added to his explanation.

Rush was the undrafted free agent picked out of Central Michigan in 2017. Since then, he spent most of his time with the Cowboys. The Week 4 clash witnessed the veteran recording a passer rating of 107.5 and connected for two touchdowns in 223 passing yards.

In the current situation, it seems Dak Prescott’s injury in Week 1 was for the sake of the team’s success. Rush was an out-of-syllabus prospect, but fans have now started urging the management to give a permanent position to the 28-year-old. One of the fans asked the Cowboys to sack Prescott for Rush.

However, one fan supported Dak Prescott who seems to be the backbone of the game.
