A top ten highest-paid quarterbacks list would be easy to predict, or so many would think. The 2023 offseason has been full of shockers and especially tantalizing when it comes to the QB market. While names such as Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, and Lamar Jackson make perfect sense to be on the list, the rankings might end up being the point of disparity. And, it seems that one QB has crossed the top QBs in the league in terms of contracts.

One Tennessee Titan has overtaken both Aaron Rodgers and Lamar Jackson. While Rodgers’ and Jackson’s future seems to be up in the air with their respective teams, the Titans have also been reconsidering equations with their once-backup QB. The Kansas City Chiefs stood victorious at the Super Bowl LVII showdown. Mahomes secured his second ring in just his third visit to the big stage. While Patrick Mahomes is set to continue his time in the red and gold, other elite QBs are looking for a change of scenery. Aaron Rodgers is expected to move on to the New York Jets, forcing Green Bay Packers to make moves. On the other hand, Lamar Jackson has been trying to secure himself a new deal, being unhappy with the one-year $32.4 million ‘nonexclusive franchise tag’.

Ryan Tannehill is set to be responsible for $36.6 million of the salary cap to the Titans. Keeping Tannehill is an enormous task for the Tennessee Titans. Thankfully Tannehill enjoys the confidence of his coach, Mike Vrabel. Entering the final year of his original four-year, $118 million contract, both Tannehill and the Titans have steered clear of speculations. Denver Broncos Superstar quarterback, Russell Wilson, also made an appearance on the list, as he hopes to redeem himself for the 2022 season.

The most important position?

The quarterback has emerged as the key to an immaculate offense. Almost any team in the NFL needs an offensively sound unit to win. Unless they are the Super Bowl XXXV & XXXVII (where Baltimore Ravens and Tampa Bay Buccaneers scored with their defensive units), then QB is the key to wins and championships.
