The Los Angeles Rams are all set to against the Seattle Seahawks in the season opener match. But again, for the ninth time, the Rams would be entering the field without their star wide receiver, Cooper Kupp. For the last eight games of the previous season, Kupp had to sit out because of a high ankle sprain. Well, this pesky hamstring issue seems to be posing drastic problems for the Super Bowl LVI MVP.

Now even the new season is looking a bit similar for Kupp. He was facing some problems during the training sessions, and for that reason, the team’s head coach, Sean McVay went ahead with his decision to rule him out. McVay has also talked about the matter publicly and shed some light on Kupp’s current condition.

In a recent interview, McVay talked about his decision to rule out Cooper Kupp from the season opener. Now it’s apparent that McVay wouldn’t want Kupp to enter the game, lest he was feeling at his best. But, at the same time, he wished Kupp to get better as soon as possible, so the world could witness the magic of the Yakima-born wide receiver once again.

McVay said, “It wasn’t the normal thing. There’s just a lot of gray behind this. I’m not a doctor, so I can’t really answer anything more about that. I just know it doesn’t follow the standard protocol for when you’re reaggravating a soft-tissue injury.” So, it’s currently not known what is the actual issue behind Kupp’s injury. But, the coach wants to get to the root cause and hopes it gets cured as quickly as possible.

It’s disappointing news for the Rams’ fans, that the wide receiver won’t be participating in the Week 1 matchup. This past week, Kupp visited Minnesota to get some treatment for the injury. Now the wide receiver sojourned at the institute for his treatment, but as per McVay, it wasn’t very satisfactory, to get him back in the team.

McVay doesn’t feel Kupp is yet ready to make a comeback

The Wednesday announcement was inevitable and had to be made. Kupp’s treatment results didn’t put forward a strong claim regarding his recovery. So, McVay had to go ahead and make the hard decision to rule him out. But, as it seems this has also made fans worrisome about the health of Kupp.

So, McVay remarked that their team is trying to get behind the real reason, why Kupp is feeling the way he is around the area of his hamstrings. He further added that they also managed to gain a lot of information in just a couple of days, but apparently, it wasn’t enough. He said, “He felt like he gained a lot of information, was able to do a couple of days of treatment that was beneficial, but it wasn’t anything that’s like ‘Okay, he’s gonna be back right now.‘”
