On Thursday, he committed himself to play football at the University of Texas over attractive programs like Georgia, Alabama, LSU, Clemson, and Virginia. While carrying the tag of being the best player in the 2023 class, his decision might change the fortunes of the Texas program.
The family decided to keep his recruitment plans away from mainstream attention before his tweet.

It was Arch who shared the news on his official Twitter account, the news becoming his first post on the account. While announcing his intention to commit, Arch tweets, “Committed to the University of Texas.” The son of former Ole Miss wide receiver Cooper Manning, Arch was the rising star at Isidore Newman High School in New Orleans. During his first 3 years, he recorded 5,731 passing yards, and 72 TD passes. Manning gave an account of himself while living up to the family name.
NFL Twitter shares thoughts about Peyton Manning’s nephew Arch Manning and his chances
The news was almost gaining momentum about his chances of joining Texas after his close friend and TE Will Randle committed earlier this week. His announcement was welcomed by his Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian, who was happy about the inclusion of the young Manning. According to his high school head coach Nelson Stewart, it was a patient and mature decision from Manning to help last year’s dismal 5-7 team.
However, fans on Twitter share the belief that the decision might backfire for the promising player in the upcoming season.

As a lifelong Longhorn fan we don’t want you at all! You should go to a real program like Ole Miss where you can continue your family’s legacy. We might never win more than 8 games again!
