Rams HC Sean McVay confirmed on Wednesday that they placed Matthew Stafford in concussion protocol. It came after the franchise’s medical team found out it was the healthiest choice for the QB. The news left Kelly Stafford emotional as she expressed her thoughts on social media.
Kelly Stafford wrote on The Morning After podcast’s Instagram Stories. She mentioned, “If you follow NFL, you just heard Matthew got put into concussion protocol. If you have listened to my podcast at all, you know how a big a deal it is to me. The head is not something to be messed with… and I hope as this sport develops, so does the concern for head health and the research around it. And no, I’m not ok. I have every emotion running through me. Concerned, angry, sad, tired… all of them.”

The QB’s entry into the concussion protocol looks surprising. Stafford appeared to be in his senses after the Week-9 loss. Moreover, he interacted with the media at the post-game press conference and looked normal during his appearance.

As per AP’s Greg Beacham, McVay said they did not place Stafford in the protocol till the middle of the week. He could still play against the Cardinals on Sunday. The Rams will take things slow with Stafford, hoping that he’ll be capable of playing this weekend.
