Tom Brady and his Buccaneers suffered a devastating loss against the 49ers. The Bucs were absolutely destroyed by the 49ers. However, it might have been even worse for Brady. He suffered a loss at his old stomping ground. While losing the game was devastating enough, Brady experienced a slightly funny moment with a player from the 49ers. Dre Greenlaw reportedly made a gutsy move with Brady after the game.

After the game, Greenlaw went to the star quarterback and asked him to sign the game ball. However, the funny thing was that this was the same game ball that Greenlaw had intercepted. The thrower of the ball was none other than Tom Brady himself.

The game ended with a final score of 35-7. The Bucs had two quarters without scoring. They scored one touchdown in the third quarter but that was it. Brady hadn’t played a particularly good game. He had given up 2 interceptions. One of those was an interception taken by Dre Greenlaw.

The 49ers linebacker went on to ask Brady to sign the ol’ pigskin that he had intercepted off of Brady’s pass. It was a gutsy move by the linebacker and Brady also appeared to be a good sport and went on to sign the ball. Later on, Brady spoke about how it might have felt when he was signing the ball and his thoughts about it. However, he said, “It was complete s–t. But I try to be a gentleman.” It obviously did not make him feel very good, but Tom Terrific showcased great sportsmanship. However, in terms of retrospect, Brady spoke about how he was grateful he did not react any differently. Even to his credit, Greenlaw was very gutsy with the ask.

Tom Brady mentioned that he was trying to be a better sportsman in terms of spirit. On his podcast, he mentioned, “I’m trying to be a good sport because a lot of times I’m not a good sport I could be a pretty bad sport.” Even Greenlaw mentioned his thoughts on his approach to asking Brady about the autograph. Furthermore, he did say, “He is a good guy to be able to sign that ball after he threw them pick. That’s big time. I appreciate it. He is the greatest. He’s the GOAT.” The linebacker had nothing but words of appreciation for the veteran quarterback.
After the brutal loss against the 49ers, the signing of the ball could’ve been something that could have tainted their victory. However, the moment between the linebacker and Brady was as wholesome as it can get after such a crushing loss.
