Washington Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke knows how to treat himself. The Commanders stunned the NFL World with a 32-21 victory over divisional rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles. The team ended the Eagles’ eight-game winning streak by handing them their first loss.

As part of Heinicke’s contract with the Commanders, the quarterback receives a $125,000 bonus for every victory. However, he has to be involved in sixty per cent of the Commanders’ offensive snaps.

Taylor Heinicke has a very cool tradition

The 29-year-old quarterback has a solid tradition of buying himself Air Jordans after every victory. The sneakers are purchased in the colour of the team he beat.

After the Commanders beat the Eagles, Heinicke was all set to buy the Air Jordan 4s in Metallic Green.

But, Heinicke did not forget the effort of those who surround him on the field. The quarterback went beyond and extended the gesture to his offensive linemen.

Featured on ‘The Pat McAfee Show’ the quarterback revealed that he was going to buy his offensive linemen some Jordans because of all the hard work they put in day in and out.

He said, “I was trying to keep it a little surprise. They’ve been busting their a** all year, they need to be compensated for that. I ordered some Js for the starting line this past week. Heck, if they keep doing that they’ll be getting some more.”

The Commanders also celebrated their victory over the Eagles on the plane ride back. A video depicted the quarterback draped in gold and silver chains from his teammates.

The Commanders need more victories like the one against the Eagles

This victory against the Eagles should solidify Heinicke’s position as starting quarterback for the near future. The Commanders are currently ranked at the bottom of a very competitive NFC East. The Eagles, Giants and Cowboys ranked ahead of them separated by very small margins.

The Commanders have won three of their last four games, even pulling off a stunning 23-21 victory over the Green Bay Packers. They will next head out to take on the Hoston Texans. The team will hope to improve their current  5-5 record with a win against the Texans who are currently at 1-7-1.
