The 2023 NFL draft has seen another talented pool of rookie athletes making their way to the big league. And amongst these players is the first overall draft pick of this year, Bryce Young. The Carolina Panthers selected Young as the 1st overall pick. He’s an immensely talented QB who possesses a high IQ and a great arm. But despite his talents, many also raise their eyes amidst concerns regarding his build and height. Standing at around 5-foot-10 inches and 204 pounds, Bryce Young is not your typical QB meeting the set standards for the position.

But despite the odds, the Panthers have gone on to put their faith in the young QB after drafting him first overall. As Young’s debut season slowly approaches, he shared an emotional moment recently with his mother and father at the Panthers facility.

Despite the concerns surrounding his height and weight, Bryce Young took part in his first off-season program in the NFL. And during the program, he managed to impress veteran WR Adam Thielen. The WR said that the 21-year-old Alabama has come to the Panthers, “prepared to play”. And while the offseason training continues for Young and his team, he also shared a heartwarming moment with his parents, Craig and Julie.

In a recent clip shared by NFL insider Dov Kleiman, we see Bryce Young bringing his parents to see his locker room at the Panthers facility for the first time. The clip shows the young QB getting emotional seeing his locker, as he then said, “Come on Mom”, while inviting his mom and dad to have a look at his locker too. It is certainly an emotional moment for the Young family, as they looked proud at seeing their son achieve his dreams of playing professional football as his career and passion.

Young’s parents always supported him

Both of Young’s parents have been instrumental in shaping their son’s future to prepare him for the NFL. His father Craig is a UCLA graduate, who was also a QB back during high school. And ever since his son reached seventh grade, he did his best in coaching him for years. He talked about how he wanted Bryce Young to get the best training, as he himself was not lucky to get such an opportunity to grow athletically. Even his mother Julie has been a constant source of support for her son’s football career. When Young won the Heisman trophy in 2021, he thanked his mother, saying, “My mom, for always having my back, for always supporting me. It’s not always easy. I’m always running around. Not all the time do you understand, but you always had my back, you always supported me and for that I’m forever grateful.”
