Former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick has been aggressively looking for a way back into the league. His regular workout regimens with professional athletes and conversations with the Seattle Seahawks are already in the headlines. He currently intends to go to whatever extent, as he is willing to play a slightly different position in a squad. But which organization will take him on as a member of the roster?

Ever since he departed from the NFL, the quarterback-turned-activist has been active in his secondary endeavors. Apart from the humanitarian work, he has been writing a children’s book displaying his childhood. But that hasn’t halted his aspirations to set foot in the league after 5-years of absence.

Colin Kaepernick is ready to switch

Colin Kaepernick is willing to acknowledge a backup quarterback position if that was the only way he can rejoin the League despite missing five seasons, according to CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson. She also hails coach Jim Harbaugh’s passion for helping his former QB1. From 2011 to 2014, Jim was the head coach of the 49ers, where he mentored Kaepernick for 4 seasons.

She mentions, I’m told Colin Kaepernick has informed others that he’s open to accepting even a back-up QB role–if* that’s what it takes–to facilitate a return to the [NFL],”

The revelations come following ESPN’s Field Yates stated that Kaepernick would toss an exhibition at the halftime of the University of Michigan’s spring football game on Saturday. NFL Draft prospects will be present at the spectacle. Various teams’ representatives will be there to witness the event as well.

Perhaps this is Kaepernick acknowledging that the starter role he wants isn’t currently available at the moment. Accepting a backup role could expand his pool of possible bidders if he can show that he’ll have whatever it takes to compete for an NFL division club.

A sheer chance of redemption?

In the free-agent class, Colin Kaepernick appears to be an intriguing prospect. Even though many sources indicate he is in “the best shape of his life,” the quarterback has established himself well if his social media training videos would be any proof.

In 69 appearances and 58 starts for the 49ers, the former University of Nevada star finished 59.8% of his throws for 72 touchdowns and 30 interceptions. He additionally ran for 2,300 yardage and 13 touchdowns on the turf. Kaepernick famously stepped up for the 2012 49ers late in the season and helped them win the NFC West. In 2013, the 49ers were 12-4 and advanced to the NFC Championship Game with Kaepernick as the full-time quarterback.

Kaepernick has spent the largest proportion of the last month pleading for just a resurrection. Now, sources indicate that he will do it once again on Saturday. It remains to be seen whether anybody really seems to be interested in him for a backup role.
