During the interview, he explained how he got no opportunities to workout with the franchises yet he remains stubborn about his ambitions. In addition, he also pointed out how Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll refused to sign him in 2017 since they already had the likes of a starting quarterback Russell Wilson.

“No team has brought me in for a workout,” Kaepernick said. “No team has brought me in for an opportunity. I had the one meeting with Seattle in 2017. And out of that, Pete Carroll said, ‘Hey, he’s a starter, we have a starter.’ And, you know, things moved on from there, but they don’t have a starter right now.”

Now with Wilson gone, the Seahawks remain QB deprived, yet still, coach Carroll hasn’t offered Kaepernick an opportunity to play. Will coach Carroll approach Kaepernick ahead of the 2022 regular season? It remains to be seen which team the former Niner ends up joining forces with.
