This time, his approach differs from pro football. Kaepernick assists rapper Ice Cube by investing in the BIG3 basketball league.

Colin Kaepernick came to support Big3
According to Shams Charania, Colin Kaepernick has invested significantly in Ice Cube’s fan-favorite ‘BIG3 League‘ to keep it operational and support its potential development. Since the league’s inception in 2017, many former NBA players have played for its respective teams. In contrast to the NBA’s 5×5, it encourages 3×3 basketball.
In a tweet, Charania mentions, “Colin Kaepernick is investing in Ice Cube’s BIG3 league, which was on the verge of potentially shutting down. Kaepernick’s new deal will help the 3-on-3 competition continue operating and growing.”

They did not disclose the amount invested by Kaepernick to the public. However, it was enough to keep the fan-favorite basketball league afloat and in business. COVID-19 affected Ice Cube’s project, and he struggled to keep it going. But with Colin’s investment, they can now run operations smoothly.

Aside from Ice Cube’s other projects, the rapper has a collaboration running with the NFL. The league’s partnership with Ice Cube’s ‘Contract with Black America’ Institute supports the initiative to empower black-owned businesses. It also combats the widening wealth divide. According to Forbes, the league has guaranteed more than $100 million to uphold the cause.

In his appearance on the Pat McAfee Show, Ice Cube refers to the collaboration finite to the NFL. However, they would communicate with all the team members and the franchises to achieve the same aim. Next, invite other leagues to join and support black-owned businesses, including the NBA. The rapper also calls himself privileged to work alongside the League, mentioning that Roger Goodell and Troy Vinson came up to him to make something happen. Ice Cube plans to achieve more in the future.
