The Cleveland Browns find themselves in a big hole ahead of the upcoming season. They brought in Deshaun Watson from the Houston Texans and offered him a massive contract. A possible suspension for Watson looms large, and as a result, the franchise might be forced to bring in Colin Kaepernick for a workout.

Kaepernick, who hasn’t been a part of the NFL since 2017, can act as a fill-up QB until Watson returns. It’s been revealed the Browns might have to make a move to land the former 49ers QB before the season begins. The Browns also had to part ways with Baker Mayfield weeks ago, who took his talents to Carolina.

The franchise knew this situation could come up as Watson was facing numerous charges against him. Even though his cases have been settled, the NFL is likely to suspend him for a few games, at least at the beginning of the season.

If the suspension is long, it could completely ruin the Cleveland Browns’ season. It will be interesting to see if they actually bring in Colin Kaepernick for a workout. They already have faced huge backlash over bringing in Watson, and a move for Kaepernick will definitely raise the temperature around the place.

Colin Kaepernick worked out with the Las Vegas Raiders earlier in the offseason. His chances looked promising, but yet again, he was left disappointed. It has been over 5 years since he was part of a team in the NFL.

Even though his name has come up among possible candidates for the Browns, it seems unlikely the franchise will actually move for him. The Browns recently signed Josh Rosen to a 1-year deal. With Jacoby Brissett already there, a move for Kaepernick looks quite far away for the Browns.

Kaepernick will definitely continue to work hard to make a comeback in the league. It might not be for the Browns, but with the way things are shaping up in the league, we might see Kap’s name often throughout the course of the season.
