Former 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick has been away from football since he played his last game in 2016. Kaepernick was stuck between controversies as he became one of the first NFL players to take a knee during the national anthem before the game. It has been almost six years, and the QB is still trying his best to make a comeback in the NFL.

In May 2022, Kaepernick did a workout with the Las Vegas Raiders that supposedly went well, according to many NFL critics. Interestingly, former NFL legend Warren Sapp said he had heard that Kaepernick’s workout with the Raiders was a disaster. Now with Sapp’s comment, there has been a debate going on about Kaepernick’s workout.

Well, former QB Brady Quinn is another player who thinks Kap’s workout was not as good as everyone is saying. Quinn said“If the Raiders were willing to bring him in and they thought he performed well enough, other teams would ask how he was, and he would get another workout, he would get more looks. There’s a lot of word of mouth in the NFL.”

According to Quinn, if his performance had impressed the Raiders, there would have been some word of mouth. Other teams would have also given him a chance if he would have performed well.

Quinn further said, “Part of it too is the game has changed. These young dudes coming out now can sling it, and that was the weakest part of his game, and if he hasn’t transformed into that, it’s gonna be hard to impress any of these teams anyway.”

The former quarterback thinks the game has changed a lot in these six years. It would be very hard to impress any team if Kaepernick has not transformed his game.

Colin Kaepernick played six seasons with the San Francisco 49ers from 2011 to 2016. He had his best performance in the 2014 season, where he threw for 3,369 yards, with 19 passing touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He also led the 49ers to the Super Bowl in 2012-13, where they lost to the Baltimore Ravens by 34-31.
