Colin Kaepernick’s publishing company, Kaepernickpublishing, shared a momentous update on Instagram. They proudly announced that his book, titled “I Color Myself Different,” has been honored with the prestigious 2023 Carter G. Woodson Book Award

The caption of the post stated, “Congratulations ‘I Color Myself Different’ Named 2023 Carter G. Woodson Book Award Honoree!” Following this Kaepernick shared the post on his Instagram story sharing the news with his fans. Moreover, this accolade justifies Kaepernick’s unwavering dedication to shedding light on crucial social issues.
The book has already gained attention for its raw and heartfelt narrative by offering a glimpse into Kaepernick’s life experiences. Kaepernick’s “I Color Myself Different” sheds light on a transformative journey of self-discovery and embracing Black identity. The book is Inspired by Kaepernick’s school assignment at the age of five when he decided to color himself with a brown crayon that sets the tone for a powerful lesson about self-love and the importance of recognizing one’s worth. After all the civil work, and attaining a series of achievements, Kaepernick is making his mark outside of the NFL, but his return to the league still remains a burning query.

Anticipation on Kaepernick’s Return to the Gridiron
In of the recent tweets by Kaepernick, he shared a video in which he was seen throwing passes at Nike’s world headquarters. The video also featured, the New England Patriots wide receiver Kendrick Bourne, who highlighted Kaepernick’s strong throwing arm by saying, “Man, he looks great arm looks strong. He’s got a rocket of an arm. He’s got another good six years left.” This stint of Kaepernick clouded the NFL landscape with anticipation of his return.

Kaepernick played his last game in 2016 with the San Fransico 49ers which was his sixth and last year with the franchise, and since then his presence was missed on the field. However, with recent training sessions with prominent NFL players, Kaepernick’s return on the Gridion seems to be a possibility.
