On April 9, 2022, the Pittsburgh Steelers‘ Dwayne Haskins met a tragic end at the age of 24. The heartbreaking news captured global attention, spreading to every corner of the world. But, although it has been 16 months since his passing, it seems that a seasoned host doesn’t remember the tragedy at all.
Haskins’ demise came as a result of a collision with a truck on the freeway. An autopsy report confirmed that his cause of death was blunt force trauma. Nevertheless, his family holds suspicions about the circumstances, prompting them to initiate a lawsuit against multiple parties. And now a few months after filing the lawsuit, a Fox Sports radio host has shared commentary on Haskins’ quarterback ability.

Cowherd compiled this list featuring quarterbacks drafted since 2013 who he believes can’t secure a Super Bowl win. Despite mentioning Haskins’ name without realizing the insensitivity of “deadnaming,” Cowherd persisted with the skit, attempting to maintain a humorous tone. Till now, neither an apology nor an explanation has been issued by the host. Cowherd’s comments are now under fire from many.
In addition to this, Haskins’ family continues to seek answers regarding the mysterious circumstances surrounding his death.

A year following Dwayne Haskins’ passing, his family persists in their quest for understanding the final hours of his life. Filing a civil lawsuit, they introduce startling new allegations in April this year. Lawyer Rick Ellsley, representing the family, has crafted a lawsuit suggesting that Haskins might have been entangled in a pre-death blackmail conspiracy. In the lawsuit, Ellsley notes, “It is believed that Dwayne was targeted and drugged as part of a blackmail and robbery conspiracy.”
The note further adds, “What occurred in the hours before Dwayne was killed, many questions remain unanswered.” This speculation is fortified by Haskins’ possession of a valuable watch, stolen shortly before his fatal incident. Haskins, the former NFL quarterback, lost his life in the early hours of April 9, 2022, struck by a dump truck while attempting to cross a Florida interstate on foot.
