The Seattle Seahawks are quite active in the market for another quarterback. After Russell Wilson was traded to the Denver Broncos, the Seahawks were only left with Geno Smith and Drew Lock as their QB options.

Both of them are decent players, but not many teams would want them as their starting quarterbacks. As a result, the Seahawks are looking to bring in a solid starting quarterback. After Baker Mayfield’s move to the Panthers, the best option left for them is Jimmy Garoppolo.

The Seahawks are also exercising their options to land him. Famous sports analyst Colin Cowherd believes that Garoppolo is now the most underrated player in the league. In a video, he broke down all the stats, and they all hinted at Jimmy G being a pretty good quarterback.

Last season, while starting for the San Francisco 49ers, Jimmy Garoppolo was 6th in pass completion percent among all the QBs in the league. Moreover, he was 9th in passer rating, 2nd in yards per attempt, and 1st in yards per completion.

All these stats signify that having no team interested in getting Garoppolo is quite absurd. No matter what people say about him, Jimmy G is a winner. His team is able to win the games while having him as the quarterback. That’s a pretty good thing for any quarterback in the NFL.

Jimmy Garoppolo would be a good fit for the Seattle Seahawks

Since the Seattle Seahawks were left with no good quarterbacks, the future of DK Metcalf has also been uncertain. With the inclusion of a player like Jimmy Garoppolo, Metcalf might be convinced to stay.

Moreover, Jimmy G is likely to bring that quality into the Seahawks camp. He might get the best out of Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf. The Seahawks will have a chance to stay relevant in the league if they add Garoppolo.

If the Seahawks truly want to tank this season to get a good quarterback via the draft next year, then that would lead to an unlikely move for the 49ers QB. It will be interesting to see whatever transpires ahead, as the start of the season isn’t far away.
