After a life-threatening surgery, Coach Prime Deion Sanders is recovering well. Now, the Pro Football Hall of Famer is slowly returning to the field as he made it to campus for the first time for some offseason conditioning. He was seen on the sidelines amidst some Colorado practice drills.
After making the switch, it would be Prime Time’s first season with Colorado. And fans hope to see the same miracle he pulled off with Jackson State as Buffaloes play in the ‘Power 5’ program. Despite his recovery and the switch, one primary focus tops Sanders’s list.

The College HoF Prime Time is a one-of-a-kind college football coach with a record of winning consecutive SWAC titles. Also, he is one of the coaches to have made multiple Black college football national title games. After all, he coached his ex-team Jackson State to an unbeaten regular season sweeping off everyone last year. However, the organization and fan expectations are high with a new Colorado team. And amidst his recovery from a life-threatening surgery for his blood clots, the Coach is there for the team at practices.
But even with so much going on, there’s something that takes priority over all: That’s God. In a recent IG story, Prime Time shared a post that supposedly admits how the Buffaloes, for now, are not his number one priority. It said, “My relationship with God is my number one focus. I know that If I take care of that, God will take care of everything else!” He even shared an IG post on his profile earlier in the day, which supports this ideology: “If God wanted u to focus on yesterday, he would’ve made your neck & head flexible enough to see directly behind u, but he didn’t. He perfectly designed your eyes in the front so u can see what’s here & what’s coming. Let’s go dominate today, which will prepare us for tomorrow. #CoachPrime” With the new season kickoffs just a month away and his priorities set, will his ‘big switch’ to Colorado pay off?

Leading the Buffaloes to a massive change
The Buffaloes have had a tough time recently, with only five wins in 2019. They’ve had only two seasons with ten wins in the past decade. What many call their “glory days” go back to Kordell Stewart and Rashaan Salaam leading the team in 1994. But there’s hope for a comeback with new Coach Deion Sanders as he takes over Colorado and leads them into a new Pac-12 conference. Fans’ expectations are high as they reflect on Coach Prime’s previous record with Jackson State.

Also, under Prime Time’s guidance, analysts believe the Buffaloes’ offense has improved. The team now has a skilled quarterback, #QB1 Shedeur Sanders, like his HoF father, and promising new receivers like Xavier Weaver, Jimmy Horn Jr., and Travis Hunter. They also have Kavosiey Smoke as their running back. Together, they can compete with other teams in the Pac-12. However, their defense ranked 131st in the nation in points per game last year. Analysts believe there is potential for improvement, and the team could reach the 80-90 range this season.
