Jeff Saturday took the first step in proving his numerous critics wrong. The former player and current interim coach of the Indianapolis Colts took home his first victory as an NFL coach.

Saturday has come under heavy criticism in the last few weeks because of his lack of coaching credentials. Although he is abounding with experience as a player, Saturday has not coached at a college or league level before this. Now, Saturday has a 1-0 record as an NFL coach because of the 25-20 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders.

James’ analogy with regard to the former American presidents is an indication of his firm belief that Saturday is the man for the job even if he lacks coaching experience.

James explained that Saturday’s experience as a player was all that he needed. He also mentioned the fact that Saturday’s years in the league allowed him to learn from some of the greatest coaches.

He said, “A guy like that, he’s picked up so much from some of the great coaches and all he did was kick it down to those players, and when I heard him say ‘Who goes the hardest, the longest, will win.’ That was Tom Moore,’

James emphasised that he was excited for his teammate and stated that Saturday is special.

“But I’m excited for him…this is part of the new wave of how you do things, you gotta have that it factor, it’s not so much of experience, it’s the ‘it’ factor. Jeff Saturday got it,” he added

James also took to Instagram to celebrate Saturday’s victory while also taking shot shots at the new coach’s critics. The two teammates looked joyous as they celebrated.
