The 2020 NFL season was one that Cleveland Browns fans will remember for a long time. Making their first playoff appearance in almost two decades, the side claimed their first road playoff win since 1969. That too against division rivals Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Browns’ stunning turnaround under Head Coach Kevin Stefanski caught everyone’s attention with him being awarded the NFL Coach of the Year award.
Retaining most of their key assets, the Browns are now looking to take on 2021 with renewed vigor. Seeking to make playoff appearances a habit, the side made several key additions to their defense through the course of the offseason.

And the pick of the bunch from the Browns’ defensive acquisitions has to be 2014 first-overall pick Jadeveon Clowney. The defensive end was a star for the Houston Texans notching up three Pro Bowl appearances in consecutive years from 2016 to 2018.

Now signed on with the Browns, Clowney will be lining up alongside another stellar linebackers in Myles Garrett. Containing one of the two is a difficult task in itself. But now having to contend with both is sure to cause a lot of problems for the opposing offense according to QB Baker Mayfield.
Cleveland Browns’ new duo set to wreak havoc
Talking to ESPN, Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield outlined just how difficult it’s going to be for the opposition to take on both Clowney and Garrett.
“I wouldn’t say it would be very fun to go up against them,” Mayfield said. “That duo creates a lot of stuff for a lot of other people on the back end.”

Mayfield further talked about how the opposition having to set their scheme in efforts to handle Garrett gives the others on the back end to make some big plays as well.

“Obviously, we have a lot of guys who are very talented, so it is not just those two, but they do add a special dynamic when it comes down to offensive scheming, that you have to worry about those two guys.”
