Hue Jackson spoke with ESPN’s Sports Center. During the interview, he accused the Browns owner of financially incentivized tanking. He said he was offered a substantial bonus by Jimmy Haslam during the 2016 and 2017 seasons. Jackson stated that he was unaware of why he was being rewarded with bonuses. In fact, he even told the owner that he wasn’t interested in the bonus and wanted to use the money for drafting more players and improving the team.

The Cleveland Browns owner denies all accusations.

Following that day, in an interview with Knox News, Jimmy Haslam responded to the former head coachremarks. Jimmy said to Knox News, “Hue Jackson has never ever accepted any responsibility for our record during that time period.”

He also stated that Hue Jackson has been adept at pointing fingers, but he has never taken responsibility for his actions. Jimmy added, “There are a lot of things I could’ve done better. Hue has never accepted blame for one thing.” Furthermore, Jimmy disputed all the allegations and stated that he never paid Hue to lose games.

Was the former Cleveland Browns HC paid to lose or was he not paid?

Following Flores’ allegations that the Dolphins owner paid him $100k for every loss, Jackson accused the Browns owner of a similar practice. Hue responded to a Twitter user’s tweet, “Well Jimmy Haslam, was happy while we kept losing.” As he mentioned the bonuses he was offered on losing, he added, “Let me tell you, it was a good number!”
