Smith got emotional as he revisited the former years. “Coming from an HBCU obviously is a very, very big deal. That’s something that’s near and dear to my heart” He further added “I’ve been an ambassador for HBCU week since 2019. In that span we’ve generated over 65 million dollars for over 3,000 students”  Smith’s claims about the scholarships was his gesture of repaying the gratitude he had for the college.
