In the first few minutes of the show, Smith reflected back on his college playing days. The HBCU collegiate showed massive love for his alma mater. Smith revealed an interesting detail revolving around the HBCU.

Smith got emotional as he revisited the former years. “Coming from an HBCU obviously is a very, very big deal. That’s something that’s near and dear to my heart” He further added “I’ve been an ambassador for HBCU week since 2019. In that span we’ve generated over 65 million dollars for over 3,000 students”  Smith’s claims about the scholarships was his gesture of repaying the gratitude he had for the college. Fans would be keeping an eye out as Smith stars in a talk show with Sharpe.

Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe, the two gigantic figures are set to feature on “First Take”. The two imminent personalities will go head to head in the podcast show during the NFL season. Sharpe is set to become an ESPN contributor. Smith as per the “Shay Shay Podcast” revealed that he wanted Sharpe’s presence on the show.

Smith revealed that with the things Sharpe has done for the community and the impact he has created. The commentator spoke regarding the same. “This is a brother I think has done a lot of good work on television that has helped our community. As a result, it’s incumbent upon me because of the perch I sit on to let them know he’s wanted.”  Smith has shown full support to Sharpe during the conversation.
