The Los Angeles Rams will face off against the Cincinnati Bengals at the 56th Super Bowl on February 13th. The Super Bowl game is set to be played at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles. However, the Los Angeles Rams are not the home team for this game.

Despite being at their home turf, the Rams will be the guests in their own stadium. It will be the Cincinnati Bengals who will host the Super Bowl 56 at the Rams home. The oddity is because of NFL rules determining which team hosts the final game of the season, which is technically held on neutral grounds.
Ian Rapoport reported the same subject in a tweet posted on Monday. He tweeted: “The Rams are actually the road team, officially, despite being at home at SoFi Stadium. The Bengals are home, a designation that alternates each year between the AFC and NFC champion.”
NFL rules for choosing Super Bowl host
According to the NFL, “The home team designation for the Super Bowl alternates each year between the AFC and NFC champions.” In other words, the home team will switch from NFC to AFC every year.
During Super Bowl 55, the NFC housed the championship game. Consequently, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers were the home team at Raymond James Stadium, which is their actual home stadium. The Buccaneers became the first team to reach the promised land in their own stadium due to purely coincidental circumstances.

The AFC champions will host Super Bowl 56, as the NFC champions hosted the previous year’s edition. Hence, the Bengals will be the home team at SoFi Stadium, while the LA Rams will be the away team at their home. Since the Bengals are the home team, they have the freedom to pick what uniforms they will wear. Since the Rams are the away team, they will call the coin toss and the overtime if necessary.
