Apple was also part of an important play on the night as he did register an open-field tackle on Hill. It was a night when missed opportunities did come back to bite the Chiefs as they did lead the Bengals 21-10 going into halftime. The luck was really on the Bengals even as the game did head into the overtime period. It was a night to forget for QB Patrick Mahomes as he just wilted away as the game progressed on the night. It was a night when the youthful energy did indeed trump experience and pedigree.
Cincinnati Bengals are going to the Super Bowl
The Bengals last won the AFC Championship during their 1988 season. They are a team hungry for success and look set to get a chance at the big prize. QB Joe Burrow did have a good performance against the Chiefs as he did end up completing 23 of his 38 passes for 250 yards and 2 TDs.

It was another game in which kicker Evan McPherson did make a huge impact. He did aid in the Bengals equalling the record for the biggest comeback in an AFC Championship game. It was a tenacious performance in which they responded after the interval in a dominating fashion. Both the offense and defense did click into gear when it mattered most.
But up next for the Bengals is the biggest game of their young careers. It could signal the start of something special for the franchise. The challengers, Los Angeles Rams, are coming off an impressive comeback win over the San Francisco 49ers. The Bengals will again be an underdog in a clash that would be crowning a new Super Bowl champion.
