Gisele Bündchen has been a beacon of inspiration to many young aspiring supermodels. The high-paced life of the fashion world often tends to catch up to most, and Gisele was no exception. The Brazilian Supermodel has conquered every challenge thrown her way with grace and pure class. Despite having a public separation from her ex-husband and former New England Patriots legend, Tom Brady, the mother of two has continued striving for greater success.

But even someone as seemingly perfect as Gisele Bündchen has flaws. In her memoir, “Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life”, Bündchen reflected on one of her habits that she had to reprimand. Just letting go of this one habit opened Gisele up to many new possibilities and a fresher way of life.

Tom Brady has been the pinnacle of excellence and a result of healthy habits. His former wife has maintained a similar stature in the fashion world. However, the journey was not a cakewalk, as Bündchen had to deal with her demons along the way. There came a time in Gisele’s life when she felt like slipping away from her identity. The multi-faceted phenom was slowly losing her ego, and along with that came anxiety and self-doubt. However, being the fighter that she is, Bündchen knew the only way was up.

As she recalled in her memoirs, “Life was showing me something, and its message couldn’t have been clearer. It was up to me now whether I wanted to “see” what life was showing me or to hop back on the hamster wheel.” Bündchen found herself leaning towards a deadly habit and made up her mind to bounce back, “I told myself that if I was having trouble breathing, it might be a good idea to stop smoking. Whenever I wanted to fit in somewhere or try to look cool, I’d light one up.” The supermodel tried quitting a couple of times, making bets with friends, indulging with acupuncturists, and even giving self-help books a try, but nothing seemed to work.

Finally, it was her willpower that made the difference, “Now I told myself the cigarettes had to go. So I stopped. Just like that.” She replaced her dependency on cigarettes with a healthier alternative, “I began running, too, thirty minutes every morning, even when it was raining or snowing. It was partly to help with not smoking, but mostly to form a healthier habit. Nothing makes you feel your lungs more than a good hard run.” Gisele Bündchen reliving her younger days through her memoir is just the motivation and roadmap many aspiring individuals in the industry need, and she has lived up to the hype of being a ‘role model’.

Doing her part for society

Bündchen has been a role model just not in front of the camera. Despite all the success she has enjoyed, the Supermodel turned activist has always tried to give back to the community while inspiring many others to do the same. The Brazilian phenom is all set to co-host the Luz Alliance Fund Miami Gala next month. Gisele started the Luz Foundation with hopes of supporting humanitarian, educational, and environmental causes. Joining forces with the Brazil Foundation just amplified her connection to her roots and further motivated her to stay true to the goal.

Speaking on the initiative, Bündchen said, “Joining forces with Brazil Foundation, thought leaders, entrepreneurs, philanthropists, activists, and influential entertainers, and partnering with organizations working to build a better world creates a much bigger impact.” The May 20 event at Miami’s Fairchild Botanical Gardens aims to raise awareness about the importance of investments in the regeneration of Brazilian biomes.
