Christian Fauria, former New England Patriots tight end opened up about their former quarterback Tom Brady, speaking on WEEI. QB Tom Brady recently moved to Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Fauria claims that the Patriots’ squad is better off without Brady.

Fauria explains that it’s not that Brady was not useful to the Patriots or that he couldn’t throw a ball. It’s just that Brady was at a point in his life where his aspirations and goals differ from that of the Patriots.

He mentioned that it is because of where he is in his career, his age, what he wanted to achieve, and what the Patriots were trying to reach were quite different.

Fauria was rather diplomatic while talking about their paradoxical goals. The Patriots’ veteran claimed that the team’s offense would not have progressed with Brady as the quarterback.

He explained that even though his throwaways were essential, Brady’s reluctance to adapt would have cost the Patriots heavily.

“This offense is not going to be able to move forward with Brady as the quarterback, not because he sucks. Those throwaways were important. It’s because he wasn’t willing to adapt. There’s the difference. He wasn’t willing to let N’Keal Harry grow,” says Fauria.

Fauria explains how Tom Brady was afraid to take risks

The former Patriots’ players stated that Tampa’s QB Tom Brady was holding the defense back and he was not taking risks. He added that Brady was an experienced Quarterback who was willing to win but did not want to take any chances.

Fauria indicated that Brady didn’t want to mess his stats up. He explained that Brady avoided throwing balls that could get intercepted and threw it out of bounds instead.

It is no surprise that Fauria felt that Brady’s behavior could stunt their young star’s growth. Fauria believes that Brady refused to throw the ball to N’Keal Harry because he didn’t trust him.

He speculates that Harry’s unimpressive track record as the WR was the reason behind Brady’s apprehension.

Fauria stated that “Tom Brady doesn’t want his stats being messed with and won’t throw interceptions and would rather throw it out of bounds, that’s the guy that is going to delay the development of your star wide receiver who won’t throw the ball to because you don’t trust him because he doesn’t have a long enough track record.”
