Chris Godwin is certainly missing out on a lot of action with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Ever since his season-ending ACL injury against the New Orleans Saints, a lot has occurred. The Bucs have lost another receiver, Antonio Brown in a bizarrely inexplicable way. And now the defending champs are relying on a couple of active receivers as they head towards the playoffs.
The Saints matchup was certainly a big setback for the team. During that game, they lost receiver Godwin to a season-ending ACL tear and the in-form Leonard Fournette to a hamstring injury, who will be back by the time Bucs hit the playoffs. However, recently there has been a positive update on Godwin’s injury.

Chris Godwin undergoes successful knee surgery
According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport, the 25-year-old has undergone a “successful surgery to repair his ACL and MCL, a procedure performed by noted expert Dr. James Andrews in Florida today, source said.” Though it goes without saying that the wideout will miss all the post-season drama. But he will make a sound recovery as per the doctors.

Chris Godwin has been the go-to receiver for Arians throughout the season. But unfortunately, he will not be the target for Tom Brady during the playoffs. Furthermore, as the Bucs head towards the end of the 2021 regular season, they have a big receiver crisis to solve.

With Godwin sidelined and Antonio Brown gone rogue. Arians will rely on Mike Evans, rookie Cyril Grayson, Tyler Johnson and Breshad Perriman to be the targets for the quarterback during the playoffs. The Antonio Brown incident has left the Bucs crippled in one way. But Tom Brady is known to make things happen during the worst of times.
Cyril Grayson tied Antonio Brown for the most snaps by a Bucs receiver Sunday with 53. Bruce Arians elevated the practice squad, former LSU track star to replace Chris Godwin because he was a “ferocious blocker.” Bucs should get Breshad Perriman back foe the Jets game.
