For the last couple of days, Damar Hamlin’s cardiac arrest remained a hot topic on national television. While the star is on the path to recovery, another incident was reported from Connecticut where the ex-NFL defensive tackle Chris “Swaggy” Baker experienced a stroke last week. Thankfully, the veteran is out of danger and is now being monitored to avoid future repercussions.

The former Commanders star shared the news via Instagram on Tuesday. He released a short snippet from inside the hospital room and narrated the incident asking his followers to take care of their loved ones. It took no time for this news to spread like a wildfire, with fans showering some love upon him.

The 35-year-old had this health scare on Friday, according to the reports shared by TMZ. He is on the path to recovery, and per his Instagram post, this incident nearly took his life.

“Tell Your loved ones you love me my life almost ended 2 days ago. I can’t believe I had a stroke, but God is not done with me yet” Baker captioned the post. In the video, one could see him wearing a gown-like outfit and talking to a nurse while hooked up to IV drips.

Meanwhile, his mother reported that Baker required immediate surgery after being taken to the hospital. It seems the procedure successfully got over. Doctors gave an update on his health status and claimed that the former athlete responded to the medicine and behaved like it was a minor ‘stroke’.

Baker played for nine seasons in the NFL. After spending a significant amount of time at Penn State, the youngster relocated to Hampton University, earning All-MEAC honors later on. Although he went undrafted in 2009, the Broncos offered him a deal the same season.

Next year, he played in Miami before giving a brief stint with the Commanders (2011 to 2016). During his entire career, Baker played in 93 games. Moreover, he racked up 214 tackles for 12 sacks and recorded five forced fumbles with two recoveries.

Baker always happened to be a jovial guy on and off the field. All those crazy dance moves became his signature style. Meanwhile, this recent incident certainly shocked the NFL world.

In 2018, Baker stepped out of the league. Although the Bengals signed him in March of the same year, he got released before the start of the regular season.
