Kansas City Chiefs lost their main wide man, Tyreek Hill, to Miami this offseason. In a bid to reinforce its receiving corps, the team has acquired multiple fresh faces. Besides Juju Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling, they have just traded in former Giants receiver Kadarius Toney. While Toney has not seen much action in the league so far, he is still an option. However, what did not go down as well with some fans was the notion that the Chiefs will now be out of the race for free agent Odell Beckham Jr. However, that is not the case.

The team from Kansas was among the best landing spots for the veteran receiver. However, after their deal to acquire Kadarius Toney, fans feel that the deal for OBJ is now dead in the water. Yet, there is still hope for the team and fans. In spite of getting the young WR, the team could conjure up an offer for OBJ as well. According to a report by the Pro Football Talk, Toney is a long-term play for the franchise, whereas OBJ would be a short-term move.

Kadarius Toney is still on his rookies deal. He is due $784,431 in base salary this season. And then $1.907 million in 2023 and $2.53 million in 2024. Further, the contract also has a 5th year option. This deal does not necessarily thwart any potential talk between the Chiefs and Odell. The New York Giants received a 3rd round compensatory pick and a 6th round pick in 2023 NFL draft.

The 29 years old wide receiver has a highlight reel unlike any other. Since lighting up the league in his rookie year, people knew he was going to be special. However, after a series of injuries, the promise of the legacy seemed to have faded away. Nevertheless, the WR is now a Super Bowl champion and one of the hottest free agents in the market right now.
Former offensive Rookie of the Year, took a major step in his life last season by moving to the LA Rams. The NFC juggernauts went on to win the Super Bowl in which the WR also registered a TD. Unfortunately, he was forced out of the game due to an injury. But it looked like the player would recover and join the Rams once again. However, that did not happen as he was very upset by the offer put on the table by the team.
