Chris Jones has returned to the fold. The defensive tackle, who held out for months, missed the disappointing season opener against the Detroit Lions in week 1. Just a few days ago, the Chiefs‘ money talks paid off when they presented a revised contract to the DT, which he gladly accepted, finally putting an end to his months-long absence. Under the revised deal, Jones secured more than the $19.5 million he was initially slated to receive under his old contract, alongside a slew of enticing incentives.
Chris Jones returned to the team on Wednesday and rejoined the squad to gear up for the Sunday match against the Jaguars. His fellow teammates were equally thrilled, especially Travis Kelce, to have their mate back in the building.

Kelce had openly voiced his apprehension over his fellow mate’s absence from the lineup for months, leading Jones to miss training camp, preseason games, and eventually the season opener. Kelce’s plea on an episode of the podcast “New Heights” earlier this month was heartfelt, “Chris, you’re really scaring me, man. Can you please come back?”
Now that his friend was heading back, the tight end did not hold back from expressing his excitement. In the latest episode of “New Heights,” an excited Kelce said, “I get my friend back, I get my friend back in the building, man. Get my dawg back, man,”.“You just miss that guy’s aura when he’s not around, you know what I mean?” Kelce added.
Chris Jones was equally excited and elated to rejoin his mate. Jones shared the snippet on his Instagram story, reciprocating the affection with the caption, “Love my dawg TK soul.”

The dynamic duo reunited on Wednesday, and a video making rounds on the internet showed Kelce jogging over to Jones and jumping into his teammate. The duo is set to face the Jaguars to make up for a lackluster opener that both of them missed.

While Jones missed out on the opening match due to his holdout, Kelce also did not take the field owing to an injury he inflicted during a practice match. Kelce is recovering from the injury and is ready to get back into action. The absence of these powerhouses took a toll on the Super Bowl champions in their opening match.

Now that the duo has reentered the fold, they were initially limited, but it is expected that they will bounce back in Sunday’s match, ready to rebound from the Chiefs’ loss.
