There are no ifs and buts in saying that Patrick Mahomes is one of the most important assets of Kansas City Chiefs. He has played a very crucial role to bring two Super Bowl titles to Arrowhead Stadium. But with such an immensely impactful status, Mahomes isn’t the highest-paid quarterback in the NFL, at least for now. He is currently on a 10-year contract with the Chiefs worth over $503 million. But the recent contracts of Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson, although of shorter duration, have more yearly payout. Adding to this, the Chiefs owner Clark Hunt has given the fans some unpleasant news on the QB’s contract.
Philadelphia Eagles made their QB Jalen Hurts the highest-paid player in NFL history. And Baltimore Ravens topped that with Jackson soon and since then, the QB value has gone crazy. So where does the Chiefs QB stand in all this market upheaval? The franchise owner and CEO have an answer to this very burning question.

Clark Hunt has no way to pay Patrick Mahomes
Clark Hunt believes that he has no way to come up with the dollar value to pay Patrick Mahomes what he deserves. Given the skill set that the Chiefs superstar possesses, any number would look small. That is something almost every Chiefs fan will instantly agree on.

“Coming up with a dollar value for what Mahomes means to KC would be a challenging endeavor. I don’t know that there’s really a way to quantify it financially. And, no matter what he makes over his career, I’m sure one way or another, he’ll be underpaid,” Hunt said, according to the Kansas City Star.
Surely, Mahomes will get a significant pay rise before his contract expires in the next decade. As Hunt said, he has already earned more than anybody can pay him. No doubt that he is the undisputed ‘King’ of the franchise.
The King of the Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes is already the uncrowned king of Kansas City and the entire Chiefs kingdom. In the last 5 years, the city and its football-mad fandom have seen numerous highs under their MVP QB. That feeling cannot be put to a dollar value.

The Chiefs have dethroned the New England Patriots dynasty to create one of their own. Two Super Bowl titles in three appearances over a four-year period, that’s the kind of dominance Mahomes has brought to the table.

A boy had once come from San Mateo California to Foxborough and ruled over the NFL, for more than two decades. Mahomes is on the same trajectory as the NFL GOAT Tom Brady. That is a once-in-a-generation phenomenon and no dollar amount can come close to matching it.
