Netflix has successfully boosted its $190 billion business by inducing the NFL craze through the Quarterback series. The show has been a big hit among fans, with over 3.3 million views since its release. As a result, executive producer and NFL legend Peyton Manning confirmed that Quarterback has been renewed for a second season. Manning is currently on the hunt for his next star, who could live up to the precedent set by the first season.

Fans have their own idea of who they want to take on this role next season, with Aaron Rodgers appearing as a mighty contender. But a QB has already gotten an offer. Interestingly, he did not seem interested to take on that responsibility. Why would he reject the opportunity to be a part of this project and who could be the one to step in Patrick Mahomes’ shoes in the next season?

It seems that Manning has his sights set on a Quarterback to take on the starring role in the next season of ‘Quarterback’. But that contender had other ideas. In a press conference on 25th July, Justin Fields, Chicago’s QB1, talked about being approached for the series and revealed why he is not interested in taking up the project.

He stated that he does not want to distract himself from the show as it would hamper his and the team’s performance. “They actually did reach out, and I don’t think I want to do it,” Fields said. “Just because I’d rather keep everything the way it is around here. I think just having cameras around the building, I think that may change the vibe of everyone. I just want to keep it natural, organic and really just focus on what’s going on in the building.”

The docu-series has made waves on the internet, appealing to not only NFL fans but also non-NFL fans. With viewership skyrocketing and it trending on Netflix for two weeks straight, it’s safe to say that someone else will be more than happy to take on the starring role next season. But the pressing question is, who is the fan-favorite for this role next season?

Interestingly Executive Producer and NFL Legend Peyton Manning was on Pat McAfee’s show where he addressed concerns regarding Quarterback. He believes that there is nothing to worry about for the players. “I don’t want to hear ‘It’s going to be a distraction because that’s not true, Patrick Mahomes proved that.

Fans have already started speculating the names that may feature. Jalen Hurts, Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Daniel Jones, and Aaron Rodgers are some of the top names rumored. However, with Rodgers, it might be tricky. Earlier in the month, he had shown dissent for the Hard Knocks show for the same reason as Fields. It will be interesting to know how he reacts to Manning’s offer, if there is one.

Justin Fields has rejected the idea for now but said he might feature in the show later. “Maybe down the road, but I don’t think I see myself doing it this year at least.” Since the show covers an entire season of the NFL, the new season might be available by July 2024. So we will have to wait for a while to know who will feature in the next season.
