Pete Carroll-coached Seattle Seahawks were crowned as the NFC West champions in 2020. They started their campaign with a five-game winning streak, but their form dipped midway through the season. However, star quarterback Russell Wilson ensured that the Seahawks finished with a 12-4 record.

The 32-year-old shot-caller threw for 4,200+ yards with 40+ passing TDs in 2020, but he was also hit with 47 sacks. Over the last 9 years, Wilson has been the most sacked quarterback in the league. That could be a reason why they were knocked out in the Wild Card Round by divisional rivals, Los Angeles Rams.

Wilson is reportedly unhappy with his offensive line in Seattle. He is not going to push for a trade but is open to offers. One of the teams he is being heavily linked with is the NFC North franchise, Chicago Bears.

Will Russell Wilson stay with Seattle Seahawks in 2021?

Popular American sportscaster Dan Patrick revealed earlier today that the Bears already made an approach to sign Russell Wilson this week. Here’s what their potential trade deal consisted of.

“I don’t have names attached to this as far as players, but this is from what I’m being told was the offer that was made to the Seattle Seahawks. It is the following. The Bears offered three first-round picks, a third-round pick, and two starters.”

“Don’t know who the starters are. The source close to the Bears doesn’t know who the starters are. But that Seattle was interested…I still don’t think he’ll be traded. He hasn’t demanded a trade like Deshaun Watson, but that’s what I was told in the last 15 minutes, that Seattle was offered three first-round picks, a third, and two starters. I don’t know what those starters are, but I’ll keep an eye on that,” Patrick said on the show.

Of course, Wilson will not come cheap. The Seattle Seahawks realize his value and will fight tooth and nail in order to hold on to their prized asset.

But coach Pete Carroll must understand that Wilson needs better protection in order to convince him to stay in Emerald City. Free agency is running out and they could risk losing their top targets to rival NFL teams. The Seahawks need to make some big moves, and they need to do that sooner rather than later.
