Wide receivers are usually the fastest runners on the NFL teams as they are the targets for quarterbacks. The players are the lightest and quickest, but exactly how quick are they? Very quick if one is to believe Ted Ginn Jr. In a chat with TMZ sport, the Chicago Bears wide receiver said he would have been in the track had he not chosen football.

The 35-year-old replied with “for sure” when asked if he would have been a gold medalist by now. Besides, he also made a shocking claim to back up his claims.

He backed up this claim with an astonishing fact. The 2007 first-round draft pick says he ran against the 8-time Olympic medalist in the 4×100 relay.

“I ran against Usain Bolt. I got him when we was in the 12th grade. All of the top guys that won in the Olympics between 2004 to now, I basically had a chance to race them guys in high school.”

In addition to the Jamaican superstar, he also claims to have raced Jason Richardson and Kerron Clement. Fans, as well as TMZ, could not believe this which prompted, Ginn Jr to say, “you can check it if you want.”

As per a piece in ‘The Big Lead’ the information is true. But it was not a fair matchup as Bolt ran against a high school senior who was older, taller, and had a longer stride.

However, it won’t matter to Ted Ginn Jr. or anyone else for that matter. This is because a win on the race track over a track superstar is always one to be cherished. The sprinters who beat Usain Bolt in Athens, 2004 as well as Justin Gatlin and Christian Coleman will agree with this point.

While Usain Bolt has called time on his career, Ginn Jr has signed a deal with his 6th different NFL franchise. The deal will be for a single year. Now, fans will be closely watching his speed as now they know of his win over Usain Bolt.
