One of the best defensive ends, Chase Young, faced an unfortunate setback due to an injury. Playing for the Washington Commanders since 2010, the defensive end suffered a neck injury in the 2023 preseason game. This setback does not only count out the injured star but also stands as a blow for the Commanders.

Young has always had a promising exhibit of his skills. Because of his exceptional defensive play, he has been listed as the top defensive bounce-back player to be aware of this year. However, due to the injury he endured during the match against the Cleveland Browns, his presence in the week one game now stands questionable.

According to the most recent report on Twitter/X, it was informed that Chase Young’s season debut has been delayed. With his practice now limited, Young is now in a recovery process, and his presence in the first week is uncertain. The defensive end is suspected to miss the game against the Arizona Cardinals and the one following that. Fortunately, his absence will not be for long.

Young was looking forward to the Week 1 game against the Cardinals but was unfortunately ruled out. On their report on Friday, the team was impelled to put him on the questionable list due to the stinger. Even though it remains unclear if he will be back on the field as soon as possible, he will most probably be out for at least the first two games.

It is also disheartening to mention that it’s not only the defensive end who suffered a blow due to the neck stinger. As a pivotal member of the team, his absence also affects the Washington Commanders. Therefore, it is justifiable why the team as a whole has suffered a blow.

How is Young’s absence a big blow to the commanders?

Chase Young is undoubtedly the team’s best defensive player. With the previously attained title of ‘NFL Best Defensive Rookie of the Year’ in 2020, Chase Young proves his position and importance in the team. His speed, agility, and strength, make it a cakewalk for the defensive end to sack quarterbacks.
