The Carson Wentz-led Philadelphia Eagles endured a tough outing in the 2020 NFL season. Playing under the tutelage of Doug Pederson, the Eagles slumped to a 4-11 record as they finished bottom in the NFC East behind arch-rivals Dallas Cowboys.

The veteran NFL quarterback finished the season on the bench behind rookie Jalen Hurts. The Eagles shot-caller recorded 2,620 passing yards with 16 passing touchdowns against 15 interceptions.

However, the sacking of coach Pederson and the arrival of the young Nick Sirianni could mean that Wentz is not invincible in Philly anymore. Nonetheless, with 2 years still left on his multi-million dollar contract, it might be hard for the Eagles to offload the former first-round pick.

Carson Wentz to remain in Philly for the 2021 NFL season?

NBC analyst Peter King was the latest guest to feature on The Rich Eisen Show. The pair had a chat regarding the current Carson Wentz trade situation.

The former North Dakota State man was linked to the likes of the Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts in recent weeks. But those links have since died down. Mr. King explains why.

“I think honestly, because you know Howie Roseman is doing what a smart General Manager has to do. There’s no rush to this.

“You don’t have to make your decision for another 5 weeks until March 19th. So you don’t have to trade them now. Nobody’s doing anything now.

“There’s no offseason anything and probably won’t even be a regular offseason. Anyway, so Howie Roseman can just sit there and wait until either Chicago or Indianapolis ups its offer… That’s a gut feeling to you know,” King said on the show.

Colts HC Frank Reich is reportedly eager to link-up with his former player. But there is still no official confirmation on the same.
