The Indianapolis Colts stun the New England Patriots

The game between the Colts and the Patriots had high stakes, and safe to say, it delivered. Throughout the night, both teams went back and forth in what was an entertaining fixture. The Indianapolis Colts controlled the game for the opening three-quarters of Saturday’s game against the New England Patriots. During that time, they were able to shut out Bill Belichick’s team and go on to score 20 unanswered points.

The second half, though, was a full 180 as the Patriots mounted a spirited comeback. In the fourth quarter, New England began to show signs of life, going on a 17-0 run to see themselves trailing by three points just before the two-minute warning. However, just as the tides seemed to turn in the Patriots’ favor, Colts running back Jonathan Taylor snuffed out any prospects of a comeback with a game-winning 67-yard touchdown run.

Carson Wentz gives the Patriots a taste of their own medicine; NBA legend reacts

A few weeks ago, the NFL community was in awe of the tactical masterclass of Bill Belichick against the Bills. Against the defensively astute Bills, the Patriots relied on their RBs for offense while Mac Jones stood behind as the bluff. In that match, the rookie QB completed just two of his 3 passes as the Patriots focussed more on ground passing.

On Saturday night, the Colts gave the Patriots a taste of their own medicine. Jonathan Taylor led a Colts backfield that totaled 226 yards on the run with 170 yards and a score. Carson Wentz, meanwhile, had a quiet game. The QB completed 5 of 12 passes for 57 yards, a score, and an interception in the passing game.

Seeing QBs play such a passive game is always frustrating as a viewer. NBA legend and Patriots fan Paul Pierce took to Twitter and criticized the lackluster play of the QB. “I could of did better at qb than wentz tonight,” tweeted the NBA legend.
